Great Escapes: Great Escape: Lincoln, NH

Going off the beaten path can be a whole lot of fun. So if you're ready for an adrenaline rush, head north to New Hampshire. You can get there on less than a tank.

Take Exit 32 off I-93 and you're in Lincoln, New Hampshire. This ski town in the White Mountains is home to Alpine Adventures.

We peel out in the snow and it's not long before we hit our first big drop.

The feeling is like being on a roller-coaster cushioned by snow. At times, it seems there's no way we'll make it over the obstacles.

Chain-covered wheels and 6-wheel drive make it possible to navigate the steep inclines and drops.
