Last spring 7News and the MSPCA teamed up to feature a Pet of the Week every Friday to help animals find loving forever homes. Here’s a look at some of the animals that have a new home for the holidays.

The MSPCA reports that the weekly Pet of the Week features are having a dramatic impact by reducing the amount of time pets stay in the shelter before finding permanent homes. The 10 pets featured below stayed an average of five days before they were adopted.

“While year-over-year data isn’t available to measure the exact impact, we can say that it’s not uncommon for pets to be with us for many weeks, and sometimes months, before they find a new home. It’s absolutely remarkable for these animals to be adopted inside of a week – and it makes for a very happy holiday for all involved,” said Rob Halpin, director of public relations for the MSPCA-Angell.

A handful of pets, such as Kuvo the dog and cats Pluto and Fudge, found new homes only one day after they were featured.
