Boy texts nude photo of 13-year-old girlfriend to friends

FALMOUTH, Mass. -- A boy who took a nude photo of his 13-year-old girlfriend and texted it to his friends could face serious charges.

School officials confirmed six boys at the Lawrence School between the ages of 12 and 14 are under investigation for a "sexting" scandal.

"Clearly, we are taking it very seriously, and we want to educate kids and parents about the seriousness of this type issue," said Marc Dupuis, Superintendent of Falmouth Schools.

Police reportedly issued child pornography charges against the six middle school students.

Parents at the middle school Tuesday night said it is a call to action.

"Children will be children, but they need to understand these things can be passed around an end up anywhere," a parent said.

"As a mother of a high school teenager you try to not impose because you want to think they have good judgment but at the same time you want to peer over their shoulder to see what they are doing," said one concerned parent.

School officials have sent out an e-mail to parents informing them of the situation and they plan on going classroom to classroom to talk with the students this week.
