Young father admits to brutally shaking baby

Juan Jose Cabrera, 20, was arrested after police were called to Boston Children's Hospital for a report of child abuse.
Police got a frantic 911 call from Cabrera on Wednesday morning saying that he needed an ambulance for his baby because she wasn't breathing. The child's mother was screaming in the background.
The baby was taken to the hospital where doctors contacted police to inform them that the child suffered a broken vertebrae, head injuries and damage to her retina, consistent with shaken baby syndrome. The 2-month-old is currently unable to see.
Chief John Romero, of the Lawrence Police Department said Cabrera admitted to police he had shaken the baby in anger. He was arrested on the spot and is being held without bail.
The baby is being held at Children's Hospital and doctors said the prognosis of her regaining sight is slim.
