TV show tackles unemployment

A self-help television show is combining expert advice for job seekers with the chance for people looking for work to make a pitch to prospective employers.
Executive Director Ken Masson with the support of his rotary club and local networking groups, is developing a TV series at the Chelmsford Community TV studio.
"We want to put a dent on unemployment," Masson said.
Two segments of the New England Job Show have already been taped and are in the editing room, slated to air later this March.
The 30-minute show will cover topics like the emotional side of losing your job, tips on COBRA, and getting your finances in order.
"They'll also broadcast taped resumes or ‘elevator pitches' for employers who are tuning in, and will finish on a happy note: with stories about people who have landed jobs," Masson said.
The New England Job Show will air on community access stations in Chelmsford, Lowell, Shrewsbury, Worcester, and Nashua -- but stay tuned: the team is pushing to get the show on as many New England stations as possible.
