Man assaults teen over use of soccer field

The incident happened at the Capuano School at 150 Glen Street in Somerville around 7:15 p.m. on September 3.
Police said Celio Santos, 33, became enraged when a 15-year-old Medford boy and his friends refused to give up a field to adults who wanted to play.
Santos allegedly kicked the teenager in the back.
"One of the youths told me that the gentleman was wearing a cleat," said John Teves, a coach for Somerville Youth Soccer.
Witnesses called 911 and when police arrived they arrested Santos. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
According to the police report, the adults claimed that they had a permit to use the soccer field.
However, Teves told 7News that the kids were allowed to practice on the field and had a permit.
Police obtained surveillance video from the field.
Santos is due in court on October 23.
