Teen dies in Leominster house fire

LEOMINSTER, Mass. -- Fire officials say a 16-year-old boy has died in a two-alarm house fire in Leominster.

Leominster Fire Chief Ronald Pierce said Jakob Chesbrough was found on the third-floor by Fitchburg firefighters who had responded to the fire on West Street just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday. He was pronounced dead after being rushed to UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Leominster Campus.

Pierce said Chesbrough's two younger sisters were rescued from the second floor of the home.

The fire remains under investigation with help from the state Fire Marshal's office.

According to friends, who gathered at the scene of the fire Thursday, Chesbrough was a student in the Center for Technical Education at Leominster High School.
