Plane from Boston damaged from bird strike

BOSTON -- A Delta Air Lines shuttle flight from Boston to New York landed with a big, bloody dent on its nose Tuesday evening.
Flight 1393 had taken off from Logan Airport at 4:30 p.m. and struck the bird on its final approach to La Guardia Airport.
The plane landed without incident a short time later, but there was a large dent and blood splattered on the nose of the aircraft.
There were no injuries to the passengers or crew.
It was unclear what kind of bird struck the plane.
The plane remains in New York, where is will be inspected by FAA engineers.
Geese have been blamed for several collisions with planes. In the most recent case, they brought down US Airways Flight 1459, which made a safe Hudson River landing.
