SUDBURY, Mass. -- A local homeowner left a burglar battered and bruised after finding him in his home.
Rafael Haro came home to find the suspect, Jonathan Bradley, 25, of Newton, inside his Sudbury home.
The homeowner said that Bradley had searched behind furniture and the medicine cabinet.
“I had to fight him, with the guy,” Haro said.
The homeowner yelled to a neighbor to call police and then got into a bloody scuffle with the intruder in an attempt to wrestle the keys to his own car out of the burglar’s hands.
It was not until after police arrested Bradley that Haro discovered that he had been sharing his home with him.
Bradley had been sleeping in Haro’s basement.
“He got in a situation where he was out, he was with his girlfriend and have been kicked out of the car, was walking around was wet, was cold, was just trying to find some shelter and just found himself in a bad situation,” said Bradley’s attorney.
This was not Bradley’s first arrest. He is being held on $10,000 bail in this case, but had his bond revoked on two other cases, one for drugs and the other for theft. He has 25 defaults on his record and three violations of probation.
