BOSTON -- Last night, it was much ado about Menino.

The mayor was showing off his sense of humor at a charity event.

Mayor Menino was letting go for a good cause.

Boston's boss donned a wig onstage, and he wasn't the only one letting lose.

Some of bean town's best and brightest loosen up their ties for an evening of theater.

The 12th annual Banned in Boston Musical Review gave some of the hub's biggest movers and shakers the chance to let their hair down.

Or in the case of Mayor Menino -- wig out!

Dressed as William Shakespeare, the mayor didn't read any sonnets.

Governor Deval Patrick hit the stage for a musical number.

He can drop the budget, but the singing could give Sanjaya a run for his money.

Even our very own Francis Rivera got into the act

Showing no signs of stage fright she performed admirably, as get this, a fashion reporter.

The event raises $600,000 to help keep kids out of trouble and gave last night's performers something to laugh about.
