Lynn councilors look to crack down on text messaging while driving

LYNN, Mass. -- Texting and driving -- it's a bad habit for anyone, and-- some say especially dangerous for young, inexperienced teenagers.

So, the city of Lynn wants to make it illegal for teens to drive and text message at the same time.

Councilors will take up the matter today.

The measure was put together by a city councilor after a run-in with a distracted teenager.

The ban would apply to both talking and texting while driving, except in an emergency.
