BOSTON -- Parents who spank their kids may soon face serious consequences, if a new proposal is passed.
The Boston Herald reports an Arlington nurse submitted a petition that, if passed, would require parents in Massachusetts to face neglect and abuse charges if they spank a child under 18.
The bill will be debated at the state house Tuesday.
The Bay State would be the first state in the nation to prohibit physical corporal punishment.
