ROXBURY -- Police are investigating a violent robbery involving a postal worker.

An employee who collects money from local post offices was attacked, bound, gagged and robbed.

The postal worker had completed his fourth pick-up around 8:15 p.m. Thursday night when a man approached him and said that he had a gun.

The suspect reportedly forced the victim to drive his truck across the street. The suspect then tied the victim up and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money from the back of the truck. It is believed that the suspect had also stolen some mail.

A similar incident also occurred in Charlestown recently, however authorities are unsure if the two cases are related.

The post office says the suspect will face federal charges if he is caught.
