Driver charged in multi-vehicle Boston crash

BOSTON -- The driver of a truck that went out of control on a busy Boston street and collided with several vehicles before bursting into flames has been cited by police.
Thirty-eight-year-old Timothy Newton is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving to endanger. Boston police also say Newton's driver's license has been suspended.
Nine vehicles were involved in Thursday's crash along Commonwealth Avenue in Boston's Allston neighborhood, and nearby buildings were evacuated on fears the truck was carrying hazardous chemicals.
Police now say it contained medical supplies that were not harmful.
Three people, including Newton, were treated for minor injuries.
