Suspects set bombs in schoolyard, caught on camera

LAWRENCE, Mass. -- Security cameras in a schoolyard captured what appear to be three teenage boys setting off bombs inside coke bottles.
Bruce Elementary School custodian, Brian Susi, found the bottles and notified school safety officer Jim Malloy.
Police reviewed surveillance video and discovered the perpetrators caught on camera.
The three figures were wearing dark clothing and appear to be teenage boys. They entered the schoolyard at around 1 a.m. and walked toward the school. Police Chief John Romero believes the suspects were making the bomb while out of view of the surveillance camera. At around 2 a.m. the figures emerge again and place 2 bottles on the ground and run away. The bottles exploded shortly after.
Romero said this is the third bottle bomb incident to come to police attention this year. He thinks teenagers are finding bomb instructions on the Internet or learning about bottle bombs from friends.
“I guess they see it on the Internet and YouTube and they try to copy it, but it’s dangerous.”
Police do not believe the individuals who set up the bombs are students at Bruce Elementary School. They are still working to identify the suspects.
