BOSTON -- A former Boston police officer who received thousands of dollars from men he believed were drug dealers faces sentencing on drug trafficking charges.

Authorities say Roberto Pulido was the ringleader of a group of three officers who were caught in a sting operation. They escorted two truckloads of cocaine into Boston in 2006.

They were arrested in July 2006 in Miami after they went there to collect $35,000 from men they believed were drug dealers. The men were actually undercover FBI agents.

Pulido pleaded guilty in November to drug conspiracy and distribution charges. He faces sentencing Friday in federal court.

Former officers Nelson Carrasquillo was sentenced to 18 years and Carlos Pizarro got 13 years.
