BOSTON -- Beaches across the Bay State are closed for swimming because of high bacteria levels in the water.
Health officials say heavy rains likely washed contaminants into the water.
Warnings have been issued for parks in Hopkinton, Ashland, and Concord.
City health officials closed the following beaches: Sandy Beach in Newport, Kings Beach in Lynn, Carson Beach in South Boston, Tenean Beach in Dorchester, Wollaston Beach in Quincy, and Regatta Point in Quinsigamond Park in Worcester.
