Teenager found severely burned in Hanson

HANSON, Mass. -- Emergency crews responded to a 911 call on Wednesday found a 14-year-old boy with burns covering half of his body.

Fire and EMS crews arrived at a parking lot around 4:30 p.m. on Station Street and found the boy with first and second degrees on 45 percent of his body.

The teen was taken by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, said officials.

The incident is being investigated by the police and fire departments, and the state fire marshal's office has been notified.
