2 NYC arrests in bat attack on Mass. radio host

NEW YORK -- New York City police have arrested two men in a baseball bat attack on a Boston-area radio host.

Gavin Scott, 20, and Jamal Roman, 26,  were arrested Monday in connection with the crime.

Pelagio De La Cruz hosts a weekday morning talk show at WESX-AM in Chelsea, Mass. He suffered severe injuries to his jaw and an eye in the Sept. 14 attack on a Bronx street.

A surveillance video shows two muggers following De La Cruz to an apartment building. The radio host was knocked to the ground and hit repeatedly with the bat. The muggers got his wallet and cell phone.

Police say the main attacker and an accomplice were arrested Monday on charges of attempted murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

De La Cruz was in the Bronx to visit his three children.
