Boston cathedral marks early Veterans Day

BOSTON -- The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral marked an early Veterans Day by honoring hundreds of war veterans past and present.

The ceremony was held on Sunday to remember 819 veterans, just a few days before the federal holiday on Tuesday.

Parishioners paused to pay tribute with scripture and song to those who have served from the First World War, to the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Many veterans filled the pews for the service.

A church album bearing the names of those who have served was also presented.
