Green Line trolleys crash, 7 injured

BOSTON -- Two MBTA trolleys on the Green Line collided at the Boylston station on Friday morning, causing seven minor injuries.
Officials confirmed that there was a minor collision in a tunnel between Boylston and Arlington Streets around 9 a.m. One Green Line trolley was stopped at the Boylston station when another trolley slammed into it from behind.
Five passengers and two trolley operators were injured.
The MBTA closed the Boylston station and bussing was available between Arlington and Government Stations.
This crash preceeds several crashes this year. In March, a run-a-way freight car from a lumber yard crashed into a commuter train in Canton; 150 passengers were injured.
In May, two trains collided on the tracks in Newton. The female operator was killed and others were trapped and had to be rescued.
In August, a young man in Brighton was struck by a trolley on the Green Line. The man was talking on his cell phone and never heard or saw the train coming
In Friday's early morning accident, all seven people who were injured are expected to recover from their injuries.
Most of them suffering from neck and back pain.
