Police: Boston firefighter had 41 lbs. of pot

BOSTON -- A retired Boston firefight was arrested in Texas after police found 41 pounds of marijuana in his sports utility vehicle.

Police pulled over Dennis J. Hogan, 53, of South Boston, for speeding on Interstate 40 near Wildorado, Texas, as he was driving from Phoenix to Boston.

A trooper found the marijuana in a black handbag in the "rear part" of Hogan's vehicle.

Police said the marijuana weighted 41.45 pounds and had a street value of $13,471.
