Man hits Weymouth police officer with car

WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- A Weymouth police officer was hit by a car Sunday night and hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police were investigating a reported break-in on Pleasant Street when they responded to a similar incident at the Atlantic Collision Auto Body Shop.

Officials said the suspect, Shawn Holland, was stealing a Lincoln Navigator when he reportedly hit an officer.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to South Shore Hospital.

Holland faces numerous charges and will be arraigned Monday morning.
