BOSTON -- A man in Jamaica Plain was kidnapped and robbed on his way home from work Friday night.

The victim, 59, was walking home from his job at Hatoff’s Gas Station and Service Center on Washington Street when he was kidnapped at gunpoint. The suspects held a pillowcase over his head, bound his wrists with zip ties, and threw him into the trunk of a car.

The victim said that the suspects stole the keys to the service center and demanded his password and alarm code to the building.

Police said the suspects stole several thousand dollars from the center and ditched the victim, leaving him blindfolded and tied up on River Street in Mattapan.

The victim’s boss said his employee is okay and even decided to come into work today, although he did not want to discuss the ordeal.

The victim was able to walk to a nearby Domino’s Pizza and call police. Employees at the Domino’s said he never mentioned anything about the ordeal.

“He walked in and asked to use the phone, we gave him the phone, he called, and that’s it,” said Rodrigo Coalaho, a Domino’s employee.

“He was a little shaken up this morning but as the day has gone by he’s holding up all considered pretty well...I’m worried about my people of course, you know, but we’ll get there, we’ll overcome this,” said John Tamvakologos, the store owner.

Police said the three suspects were caught on camera, but their faces were covered by masks.

According to police, this attack was well-planned and this particular employee was targeted.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
