Turkey spends time on top of home in Brighton

BOSTON -- It was a sign of the season in Brighton Wednesday night.
A turkey precariously perched himself three stories up on top of a home.
“I’m very surprised. I’ve been here almost 21 years and I’ve never seen a turkey like that, never,” said Javier Medina, a local resident.
Neighbors gathered to watch the turkey that was there for almost 10 hours.
“When I got home it was like 12 and he was just on the street and then my dad got home and he was up there,” said a Brighton resident.
Medina said the bird flew up there after he tried to feed it some bread.
Deb Putnoi of the residents couldn’t reach anyone at Animal Rescue, so she called 7News.
“Just thought maybe his wing was broken cause at one point it looked like maybe he was trying to fly away and he just couldn’t kinda just take a step off the roof,” Putnoi said.
State Environmental Police told 7News that residents should not worry because it is basically just a big bird and it will fly away when it is ready.
