Newton inaugurates first African-American mayor

BOSTON -- New Year’s Day was a historic day for Newton.
The city inaugurated its first black mayor today.
Setti Warren was sworn in at noon on Friday. He is Newton's first new mayor in 12 years, and the first African-American to be elected mayor by popular vote in Massachusetts.
Boston mayor Tom Menino will be inaugurated Monday. It's Menino's fifth consecutive term.
