Intoxicated man follows driver to police station

WINCHESTER, Mass. -- A Northbridge man is accused of driving through a local town and putting people in danger.
He brought on frightening moments for one driver who he reportedly followed for several miles. Police said was drunk when he tried to run another car off the road.
The victim picked up his phone and called police, who told him to come to the Winchester Police Station.
Police said Jonathan Zenquis, 24, of Northbridge, was behind the wheel, honking his horn, flashing his lights, and driving dangerously from Stoneham to Winchester, spooking the driver he was allegedly following.
On the 9-1-1 call, the victim was heard saying:
“There’s this car. He’s been following me for the past 10 minutes, and then flashing his high beams on me. He’s um...driving on the wrong side of the road as me, on an opposite side.”
Sgt. Daniel O'Connell of the Winchester Police Department told the victim to come to the police station because he had no cruisers to dispatch.
“The call was transferred to me...I met him out back, and I went out back and there was two cars basically going in circles, one chasing the other,” said O’Connell.
O’Connell said the victim did the right thing by calling for help.
“He didn’t want to drive to his house, which was a smart move. This is definitely a first for me, coming to the police department and having a confrontation right outside,” he said.
Police said the two people involved did not know each other. Zenquis is now facing charges of driving under the influence among many others.
