Stranded sea turtles brought to New England Aquarium

Five sea turtles stranded on Cape Cod settled into a new home Saturday at the New England Aquarium.
The turtles were rescued along the coast from Dennis to Wellfleet and taken to the aquarium.
The mild November weather caused the turtles to drift toward the shore and strong northwest winds pushed them onto the beach.
“Once these sea turtles become hypothermic they're literally just floating in the bay. They're barely moving. In order for them to be rescued we need heavy wave activity coming from the northwest that will drive from Boston across to Wellfleet and drive these floating sea turtles up onto the beaches,” said Tony Lacasse, a spokesperson for the aquarium.
The aquarium said the turtles have a long recovery ahead of them and could stay for up to 10 months.
