Former basketball player with Cerebral Palsy struck in street

EVERETT, Mass. -- A 20-year-old Everett native who gained national attention for his basketball shooting skills is in the spotlight once again, but this time it is for what has taken him off the court.
Sean Cronk who has Cerebral Palsy is being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital after he was struck by a pickup truck while walking in a crosswalk Friday night.
Several people came out to the Everett Recreation Center to sign posters wishing him a speedy recovery.
"You walk out the door and you see the street taped off, not a good sign and then you ask and you find out who it is, you know, it hits you, it hits you in the heart. It's like family, he's your family so as soon as you hear something like that you're devastated," said Sam Amado, Everett Recreation supervisor.
Cronk has been recognized for his phenomenal basketball shot by Sports Illustrated and the Boston Celtics.
Cronk's mother said that her son is making progress but she is still very concerned about his head injury.
