Youkilis wins Jackie Jensen Award

BOSTON -- The Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America selects Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis as the winner of the 2007 Jackie Jensen Award.
The honor is named for the late Red Sox outfielder who played in the 1950s and recognizes a major league player who demonstrates "spirit and determination."
Youkilis hit .288 with 16 homers and 83 RBIs in the regular season.
The writers also selected Terry Francona as its Major League Manager of the Year, and pitcher Clay Buchholz and outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury as Minor League Players of the Year.
The awards will be handed out in mid-January.
