Dwayne Wade named Sports Illusrtated Sportsman of the Year

MIAMI -- Dwayne Wade will be named Sports Illustrated's 2006 Sportsman of the Year today, making him the fourth athlete in South Florida history to receive the prestigious honor.

Wade was named MVP of the NBA finals earlier this year, after he averaged 37 points against Dallas.

In his fourth season, Wade has emerged as a superstar in the NBA and has appeared in several high-profile commercials.

Wade has also become an active force in the South Florida community by participating in numerous charitable causes.
