Well if yesterday was the raunchiest day we could muster in spring, today must have been the nicest. Highs soared away from the coast:
Not so warm in Boston or out through the Cape - thanks to the sea breeze - but at least we had the sun.
Sea breezes can challenge the most seasoned forecasters, but if you know what to look for, they can be as predictable as the sunrise/sunset. Whenever the northwest/west/southwest winds drop below 10-13 mph, the sea breeze will engage and cool the city of Boston. Watch for it tomorrow as the winds drop off in the afternoon.
Long range...things are looking a bit warmer...and drier. There may be a block forming by the middle of next week. That will do two things to our forecast: block the parade of storms across the country and divert them to the FAR northwest and south, AND give us a warming trend. Sure, the sea breeze may still surge in each afternoon, but the chances for rain are slim...and none.
