Coasting Into The Weekend
Posted by Pete Bouchard
Another magnificent finish to the day. Sun was bold and beautiful - like the full "Pink" moon tonight - and we managed to keep away the sea breeze this afternoon. End result was a high temp a few degrees above normal: 65 in Boston.
We'll dip BELOW the normal of 59 tomorrow as a cooler airmass moves in AND the wind turns in from the water. Yep, the sea breeze owns the day, and it may have you scrambling for the sweaters and light jackets at Fenway tomorrow evening.
There's also the threat for a passing sprinkle throughout the day (lesser chance in the evening). A cool pool of air will be drifting through, possibly triggering a quick shower. And as the 7 day will show, this may be our last chance at water for a while.
We're undergoing a shift in the pattern, and although a lot of folks won't be too bothered by the dry snap, some lawns and gardens may start to dry out next week. Yesterday I was thinking this change up would mean some warm days in the week ahead, but now I'm not too trigger happy about bringing in the heat...thanks to the northeast wind for much of early next week.
So the end result is that we'll have to "deal" with the mid and upper 60s - keeping in mind the coastline will check in a few degrees cooler than that. Certainly not beach-worthy, but would you rather have a week of rain?
Take it easy.
