In & Out of It

Showers and thunderstorms roll in and out this afternoon and this evening. Locally heavy rain is the main threat, but as always, watch out for the lightning, and in the worst case, one or two of these storms could contain gusty winds and small hail. The chance to see the strongest storms remains higher across western Mass, but one or two may drift in toward 495. With so many clouds and early afternoon showers around, the threat for severe weather from Worcester to Boston is relatively low. The clouds and rain help stabilize the atmosphere.
Despite a rain delay at Fenway to start, I still think we'll get the game in as enough dry hours between showers should allow the Sox to play ball.
Mother's Day features temps in the mid to upper 60s, lots of clouds, and once again a few showers around. If you're taking mom out to brunch, I'd keep the umbrella handy again.
Dry and cool weather works in Monday-Wednesday.
Have a good weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
