Ups and Downs
Posted by Chris Lambert
Highs across the area reached the mid to upper 50s for most, which is seasonable for this time of year. Despite being close to average today, the week ahead features a few ups and downs for sure as the mild air and the cold weather battle it out as we try to transition into the colder months ahead.
The new workweek begins with a nice day as highs head toward 60 degrees. However, just lurking to our north is a cold front that'll knock the temps down substantially tomorrow night. The Tuesday morning wake-up call features mid 20s in the burbs and mid 30s in the city. It'll be another "warm-up the car" morning before the commute to work. Despite some sunshine during the day, highs struggle to get out of the upper 40s.
Wednesday is a cool one too, even a few flurries to scattered light showers are possible in the morning. Highs reach 50 that day.
Trick or Treat? A passing shower is possible as warm air transitions in Thursday, but overall, much the time is dry and breezy. That wind picks up out of the south, becoming quite active at night. Highs near 60 Thursday afternoon, and stay in the mid to upper 50s for the little ghosts and goblins running around.
Friday is the best chance for soaking showers and gusty winds. It'll be a mild too, with temps in the mid 60s.
We should clear out for next weekend. Clocks go back 1 hour next Sunday morning and that means a 4:35 sunset Sunday afternoon. YIKES!!!
